For some, the use of hypnotherapy either on its own, or accompanying standard forms of counselling, can be extremely helpful in addressing their specific difficulties. Hypnotherapy is safe and has been shown in multiple evidence-based studies to have a verifiable positive effect in many areas of life.
Hypnosis is the act of shifting our consciousness or our internal state to one that is more open, receptive, and available. This ‘change of state’ allows us to access a much deeper level of our personal experience and past events than possible during our normal waking state. Hypnosis opens the door to the ultimate repository of personal information, understanding, meaning, and creativity – our unconscious, or subconscious, mind. We can then access the root causes of our fears, actions, behaviours, and emotional responses, on a more direct level. Rather than simply talking about events in our past or feeling the emotions they left us with, we can experience those past events more directly, accelerating our ability to create meaningful change in our lives.
Hypnotherapy can be used as a supportive therapy for many of the issues listed below, and can also provide support where other medically based therapies are being utilized such as medication.
