Relationship Focus Group

This Focus Group is for couples who wish to make a deeper commitment to their own learning, growth and personal development.

It is a common misguided belief that we alone struggle in our relationship, we stop ourselves from sharing our deepest fears and difficulties.  In doing so, we isolate ourselves from those who are experiencing the same difficulties.  We assume that others don’t know about the failures that torment us and bring us to our knees, and therefore believe others have figured it all out and are enjoying a trouble-free relationship.  Above all, we imagine that we are unique and alone in our stumbling blindly in the realm of love.

The sad part is that so many of us safeguard the story of our struggle and we fear that others won’t understand and will judge us.  In the absence of company, or other understanding voices in the wilderness of our isolation, we are left feeling alone, alienated, and without support.

Along with relationship therapy for couples, Metta Emergence offers support through relationship groups.  Our Focus Groups are mainly psychoeducational (focused on learning and enhancing skills) but also include individual and group process work.  The groups are “closed” meaning that all members join at the same time and only members participate in the sessions.

Group counselling is a wonderful way to meet others who struggle with similar relationship dilemmas and a great opportunity to learn together in a supportive and caring environment.

All of our Groups are now full. More groups starting in 2021!
